Sindrome da Dominio del mondo

The future is uncertain only if it is not well organized . A dream is only a dream if it is not planned.

#Pieceofmylife

  1. hai un barlume d’idea per un nuovo progetto;
  2. cominci a definirne la strategia di sviluppo;

Definisci in anticipo:

  • quali prodotti e servizi svilupperai e in quale ordine,
  • quali piattaforme userai per venderli,
  • quali sequenze email sfrutterai,
  • quali contenuti pubblici e riservati creerai,

THE GREAT DEPRESSION AND THE ROAD OF FLIGHT

THE GREAT DEPRESSION

“The Road of Flight” – The role of the Route 66 during the Great Depression.

https://sites.google.com/site/route66meaning/1-history-of-route-66/1-2-the-road-of-flight—the-role-of-the-route-66-during-the-great-depression-period

The Great Depression

The Great Depression, which officially began on Black Tuesday, 29 of October, 1929 and lasted until the early 1940s was undoubtedly one of the most difficult periods in America’s history. It affected not only country’s economy but also, primarily, American citizens. When the stock market crashed on Black Tuesday numerous banks went bankrupt, a vast number of people lost their savings. Due to the closure of banks and the Stock Market Crush, many companies lost their capital and had to reduce the number of workers, or reduce working hours. As a result, people had little money to support their families and they began purchasing only the most necessary items. “This lack of consumer spending” forced even more businesses to close down and their workers became unemployers.

By 1933, unemployment in the United States was at 25%” so, many families were completely in misery.  Many people lost their properties because they could not pay off their loans. Families could not buy food or find work, so they had to leave their hometowns and migrate to more prosperous parts of America where they could find an employment.

During the Great Depression, millions of people were out of work across the United States. Unable to find another job locally, many unemployed people hit the road, traveling from place to place, hoping to find some work. People migrated west, especially to California and the main way to get there was through the Route 66.

As the living conditions were slightly better in the West, numerous families packed their belongings and through the Route 66 migrated mostly to California. The struggle of the migrant families on their way through the Route 66 in search for a better life is introduced also in literature, for example, it is presented in John Steinbeck’s novel The Grapes of Wrath which, when published in 1939 won the Pulitzer Prize.

The Route 66                                              The route sign from 1926 to 1948

It played a significant role during the period of the Great Depression. It was the time when the myth of the U.S. 66 began to form. Due to the hardships of Great Depression, many families were forced to leave their homes and migrate in order to seek a better life. They usually migrated to California through the Route 66. Route 66 became a river of migrants flowing westward from the lands of Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas toward promise and prosperity in California and the West. The road west was rough and vulnerable to the elements, making the trek challenging and often-hazardous.

Although America’s economy and citizens were largely influenced by the period of the Great Depression, Route 66 experienced its heyday during this time.  Because of the great number of migrants, there were a lot of traffic on U.S. 66 so many people saw an opportunity and businesses such as shops, restaurants, gas stations etc. opened along the route,  providing numerous unemployed individuals with work.

Summarizing, it is the mother road, the road of flight” became a symbol of  people’s migration forms an inseparable part of the legend of the road. California was the ultimate destination for the migrating families and Route 66 leading to it became a road of dreams, opportunity, and hope for better life. It united people from different states joining them together in difficult and painful moments. When businesses appeared along the road they provided hope for many people during the Great Depression and helped to improve local economy.

The history of Route 66 began long before there were cars, or even horses and carts in America. It began with the first people to reach the New World some 15,000 years ago.

However, US 66 was established on November 11, 1926, with road signs erected the following year. The highway, which became one of the most famous roads in the United States, originally ran from Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending in Santa Monica in Los Angeles County, California, covering a total of 2,448 miles (3,940 km).It was recognized in popular culture by both the hit song “(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66” and the Route 66 television series, which aired on CBS from 1960 to 1964. In John Steinbeck’s classic American novel, The Grapes of Wrath (1939), the road “Highway 66” symbolized escape and loss.

US 66 underwent many improvements and realignments over its lifetime, but was officially removed from the United States Highway System in 1985 after it had been replaced in its entirety by segments of the Interstate Highway System. Portions of the road that passed through Illinois, Missouri, New Mexico, and Arizona have been communally designated a National Scenic Byway by the name “Historic Route 66”, returning the name to some maps.

Originally posted by Il Tempo

Quanto è corta la nostra MEMORIA? Perché non impariamo mai dal Passato?

COSA È SUCCESSO A FEBBRAIO 2020?

L̳e̳ ̳n̳o̳s̳t̳r̳e̳ ̳a̳u̳l̳e̳,̳ ̳p̳u̳r̳t̳r̳o̳p̳p̳o̳,̳ ̳c̳o̳m̳i̳n̳c̳i̳a̳n̳o̳ ̳a̳ ̳p̳u̳l̳l̳u̳l̳a̳r̳e̳ ̳d̳i̳ ̳r̳a̳g̳a̳z̳z̳i̳ ̳r̳i̳s̳u̳l̳t̳a̳t̳i̳ ̳p̳o̳s̳i̳t̳i̳v̳i̳ ̳a̳ ̳t̳a̳m̳p̳o̳n̳i̳ ̳d̳i̳ ̳c̳o̳n̳t̳r̳o̳l̳l̳o̳ ̳d̳i̳s̳p̳o̳s̳t̳i̳ ̳d̳a̳ ̳m̳e̳d̳i̳c̳i̳ ̳d̳i̳ ̳b̳a̳s̳e̳ ̳i̳n̳ ̳c̳o̳m̳p̳a̳r̳s̳a̳ ̳d̳i̳ ̳s̳i̳n̳t̳o̳m̳a̳t̳o̳l̳o̳g̳i̳a̳ ̳a̳f̳f̳i̳n̳e̳ ̳a̳ ̳q̳u̳e̳l̳l̳a̳ ̳d̳a̳ ̳C̳o̳v̳i̳d̳-̳1̳9̳.̳
Ci sembra davvero inconcepibile che, in una situazione del genere, in cui t̳u̳t̳t̳i̳ ̳r̳i̳c̳h̳i̳a̳m̳a̳n̳o̳ ̳s̳u̳l̳l̳’̳i̳m̳p̳o̳r̳t̳a̳n̳z̳a̳ ̳d̳i̳ ̳l̳i̳m̳i̳t̳a̳r̳e̳ ̳g̳l̳i̳ ̳s̳p̳o̳s̳t̳a̳m̳e̳n̳t̳i̳ ̳e̳d̳ ̳e̳v̳i̳t̳a̳r̳e̳ ̳i̳ ̳c̳o̳n̳t̳a̳t̳t̳i̳ ̳c̳h̳e̳ ̳n̳o̳n̳ ̳s̳i̳a̳n̳o̳ ̳s̳t̳r̳e̳t̳t̳a̳m̳e̳n̳t̳e̳ ̳f̳a̳m̳i̳l̳i̳a̳r̳i̳ ̳o̳ ̳p̳r̳o̳f̳e̳s̳s̳i̳o̳n̳a̳l̳i̳,̳ ̳v̳e̳n̳g̳a̳ ̳c̳h̳i̳e̳s̳t̳o̳ ̳a̳ ̳n̳o̳i̳ ̳d̳o̳c̳e̳n̳t̳i̳,̳ ̳g̳i̳à̳ ̳s̳o̳v̳r̳a̳e̳s̳p̳o̳s̳t̳i̳ ̳(̳e̳ ̳p̳e̳r̳i̳c̳o̳l̳o̳s̳a̳m̳e̳n̳t̳e̳ ̳i̳n̳c̳o̳n̳s̳a̳p̳e̳v̳o̳l̳i̳ ̳v̳e̳i̳c̳o̳l̳i̳ ̳d̳i̳ ̳c̳o̳n̳t̳a̳g̳i̳o̳)̳ ̳d̳i̳ ̳s̳p̳o̳s̳t̳a̳r̳c̳i̳ ̳i̳n̳ ̳l̳u̳n̳g̳o̳ ̳e̳d̳ ̳i̳n̳ ̳l̳a̳r̳g̳o̳ ̳p̳e̳r̳ ̳l̳a̳ ̳r̳e̳g̳i̳o̳n̳e̳.̳

The Cambridges are undoubtedly one of the most talked-about families in the world, and Prince William and Kate Middleton never fail to make headlines.

From Kate Middleton’s handy face mask trick to the news that the Duke and Duchess are hiring an important new role for their team, the Cambridge couple make non-stop news, especially since their relocation to Kensington Palace.

This week however, it was the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s marriage that got the world talking as they celebrated their 10-year anniversary.

Marking the day, Prince William and Kate Middleton posted a home video of their family – and it’s more heart-warming than a John Lewis advert.

Holding hands on the beach, laughing and toasting marshmallows – it’s all there – and unsurprisingly, it’s going viral.

‘Thank you to everyone for the kind messages on our wedding anniversary,’ the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge captioned the sweet video. ‘We are enormously grateful for the 10 years of support we have received in our lives as a family. W & C’

It was a tribute from the Queen however that made particular headlines, as Her Majesty reposted Prince William and Kate Middleton’s new anniversary photographs to her Instagram account, captioning the tribute:

. Today marks ten years since Their Royal Highnesses exchanged vows at Westminster Abbey.’

The Duke and Duchess captioned the loved-up snaps on their own social media platforms, with the simple phrase: ’10 years’.

According to the Cambridges, the new photographs were taken this week by Chris Floyd ahead of the Duke and Duchess’ 10th wedding anniversary.

Happy 10th wedding anniversary to the Duke and Duchess!

Anxiety and stress about life post pandemic.

Post pandemic stress disorder: 5 main flags you’ve got it

Between 30% to 50% of us feel some degree of anxiety and stress about life post pandemic.

Question:

From the site http://www.crazyamberbazaar.com
is all the socialising and ‘back to normality’ feeling a little overwhelming right now?

There’s actually a phrase for that feeling – namely, post pandemic stress disorder – and doctors are keen to educate you on what it is, and why it might be affecting your day-to-day more than you know.

Take some recent stats, as an example: some studies are suggesting that between 30% to 50% of you feel some degree of anxiety and stress about life post pandemic.

Re-entry anxiety is very real, and for good reason.

“Post traumatic stress following pandemics is not a new concept,” shares according to doctor Mariam Adegoke, GP and founder of Adegoke Wellness Clinic in London

Research does show an increase in people suffering from PTSD following pandemics,” she goes on.

For a full guide to the trauma you might still be experiencing as a result of the events of the past year, and specialist advice on reducing and managing your symptoms, keep reading.

What is Post Pandemic Stress Disorder?

According to psychotherapist, former NHS clinical lead and Sunday Times best selling author Owen O’Kane, it’s a new term directly referring to the trauma many are experiencing at the hands of the pandemic.

Most people have heard of PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which can occur after someone has experienced a traumatic event in life,” he shares.

“PPSD, or Post Pandemic Stress Disorder is a phrase I’ve coined that is directly linked to the traumatic impact of the pandemic,” he continues.

Although it’s important to point out that it’s not yet recognised as a formal condition, O’Kane is petitioning for it to become one.

“Many people will have experienced varying degrees of trauma over the past year: loss, isolation, illness, being unable to say goodbye to loved ones, business failures and horrific news headlines daily. The list is endless,” he explains.

My concern is that the invisible nature of a pandemic may see trauma minimised, whereas an event like a war would normalise trauma.”

What are the main symptoms of Post Pandemic Stress Disorder?

People also experience increased levels of anxiety and depression, which leads to symptoms such as insomnia, changes in mood, nightmares and hyperarousal (feeling constantly on edge),” she shares.

According to doctor Adegoke the symptoms of PPSD are very similar to that of PTSD, which characterised by intrusions (nightmares, repetitive and distressing images) and flashbacks, with people feeling as if they are reliving their trauma.

As those behaviours present themselves, they can trigger other issues, too. “The presence of these symptoms can lead to avoidant behaviour – people avoid certain places or people that remind them of the trauma, becoming isolated and withdrawn.”

Physically, you could experience symptoms of anxiety such as chest tightness, racing heart, sweating, shaking and shortness of breath. “This may become especially apparent when people are reliving episodes or are in a situation that triggers their anxiety.”

What might be triggering PPSD right now?
There are a whole load of factors that could be aggravating the disorder as we ease back into normal, O’Kane believes. Think:
Adjusting back to normal life routines
Uncertainty of covid and other variants
Financial issues
Fear around future instability
Anxiety around social interactions
Anxiety about returning to workplaces or crowded spaces.
Exhaustion from the events of the last year
Making sense of a new way of living post pandemic.
Any of these sound familiar or hit home? “It needs to be recognised that for a full year people have been told to stay at home because of a potentially life-threatening virus. It is an unrealistic expectation to assume that this readjustment back to ‘normal’ will be smooth and without real challenges,” he explains.

5 tips for managing stress and wellbeing post-pandemic:

1. Recognise you’ve lived through a challenging period
And accept that you may feel a little destabilised for a period, shares O’Kane.

“Talking this through with someone you trust will help you begin to process the events of the last year,” he shares. “Always seek professional support if you are struggling to cope or symptoms feel overwhelming. Trauma responses often need professional support, and this is crucially important to recognise.”

2. Plan how you will readjust to normal life
There’s no shame in opting for a pace that is comfortable for you. “Adapt a phased approach and don’t attempt to submerge yourself too quickly,” O’Kane recommends.

Top tip: Create a daily self-care schedule to help you reset, he advises. “This might include designated time out periods, walks, exercise, meditation or anything that helps you switch off. This will help you feel a greater sense of control and allow the mind time to heal.” Let our guide to self care ideas help.

3. Remember times when you have coped and survived
You know, those dark periods where you didn’t think you’d make it through, but did? Know this: you can do it again.

4. Reclaim your life
This one’s worth noting. “By gradually reengaging with activities, people or events that excite and motivate you, you can reclaim normality,” O’Kane shares.

“Looking ahead with a degree of hope is an important part of recovery after any traumatic time,” he continues.

5. Treat the underlying cause
It isn’t enough to treat symptoms, O’Kane shares. “The Covid-19 pandemic has been traumatic, and we can’t minimise or ignore that – it would be a travesty to do so.”

Doctor Adegoke agrees, adding: “It’s okay not to be okay, if you are struggling, contact your GP as your first port of call. You can also self refer for free NHS psychological therapy services on the NHS website.”

The British Fashion Council has announced its first Institute of Positive Fashion Forum (IPF Forum), a day-long event to discuss all things sustainable and fashion.
It’s no secret the pandemic has forced the industry to take stock and slow down its pace, rethinking what its consumers actually need versus what is produced.

The event will act as a debate of the issues facing the fashion industry, ahead of COP26, the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, hosted in Glasgow in November.

Caroline Rush, BFC Chief Executive commented: ‘The last year presented the fashion industry with an opportunity to reset its priorities, however there is still urgent work to be done to ensure we reach the COP26 goals. With the IPF Forum, we aim to bring the fashion industry together to make sustainable changes by providing practical steps from an incredible roster of speakers, each providing unique perspective on issues facing the industry.’

It’s not often you hear of such iconic – and unexpected – friendship duos.

But this week, it’s been reported that the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and actress Chrissy Teigen have been exchanging messages – for one particular reason.

While being interviewed on Watch What Happens Live, Chrissy chatted candidly about their new friendship, what they bonded over, and revealed who reached out to who.

First describing Meghan as ‘wonderful and so kind’, she shared that they bonded over their shared miscarriages, with Meghan reaching out to her after reading about her story online.

Chrissy lost a son, who she named Jack, at 20 weeks pregnant last year. The powerful images she shared on social media have since opened up the conversation around miscarriage and stillbirth, with many other women, including Meghan, coming forward to discuss their own previously unknown experiences as a result.

Meghan’s shared her story in an article first published in November 2020.

She said: “She’s been so kind to me ever since we connected. She had written me about baby Jack and loss, but yeah. She is really wonderful and so kind, and just as kind as everyone says she is, and that’s why you look at everything and are like ‘My god, what is absolutely wrong with people where they have to make this person out to be so malicious or so crazy when it’s just as simple as them being as kind as everybody says they are?’”

When asked if she’d watched that Oprah Winfrey interview, Chrissy shared that she had.

Commenting on it, she said: “I think when I ended up watching it, it was like ‘holy sh*t, this is big’, but I also waited a long time to watch it. I had already heard so much about it by the time that I got to it… but yeah. It is very eye-opening.”

In the past, prior to knowing the former Duchess, Chrissy has shared her support of Meghan. She once Tweeted: “This Meghan Markle sh*t is hitting too close to home for me. These people won’t stop until she miscarries. F*cking stop it.”

While it’s a heartbreaking subject matter, we’re so glad the women have found each other during this difficult time.

Including the recipe for her go-to cake, her favourite presents, and her most iconic looks, over the years.

Yesterday marked the Queen’s birthday (here’s how she celebrated) and, while the 21st April usually marks a joyous occasion for HRH, this year looked a bit different. Sadly, her birthday this year fell just twelve days after the sad loss of Prince Phillip.

As well as the passing of her husband of 73 years, she’s having to celebrate in a slightly-locked-down way: you are still not allowed other people who aren’t in your household inside your home, and you can only see groups of up to six outdoors.  It’s said she marked the occasion with a small get-together of close family and friends at Windsor Castle.

Fingers crossed, by her second birthday on June 12th, her “period of deep sadness”, as she phrased it, will have lightened.

Fun (albeit slightly confusing) fact: every year, the Queen celebrates two birthdays: the day she was born, 21 April 1926, and her ‘official’ birthday. The date of the Queen’s official birthday changes every year, and the tradition to have two is believed to have come from King George II. He reportedly found his November birthday too cold to celebrate, so held a celebration in June for his official birthday, too.

Even though this year the Queen’s birthday will be a sad one, they haven’t all been. With that in mind, here’s a look back over some of her favourite celebrations, along with her go-to cake, most memorable gifts, standout beauty and fashionable moments, and more.

Your guide to the Queen’s birthday
The Queen’s favourite celebrations over the years
1986
Having a concert hosted in your name sounds pretty cool, right? That’s exactly how Queen Elizabeth celebrated her 60th birthday in 1986.

Held at the Royal Albert Hall, the concert was broadcasted on the BBC for the world to watch. All music selections were made by the Queen herself, plus a few other royal family members.

It was certainly a night to remember, so memorable in fact that the Queen had another concert held in 2018 for her 92nd birthday, hosted by the Commonwealth society.

2006
In 2006, the Queen turned 80, and Britain did not let her down with the celebrating. The Guardian reported that over 20,000 people lined the streets outside her home at Windsor Castle and, for 45 minutes, the Queen strolled the streets to meet the well-wishers. Think Union Jack flags and thousands of bouquets.

In total, Buckingham Palace revealed that they had received 20,000 cards, and 17,000 emails wishing her a happy birthday. From the photographs taken of the Queen opening some of her post – see below – she looks rather chuffed with her fan mail.

Later that evening, the celebrations continued with a private black-tie dinner, hosted by her son, Prince Charles, and an extravagant firework display.

2011
Although it seems the Queen certainly loves a birthday celebration, in 2011, she kept things more low-key. That was because her birthday fell a week before Kate’s and Prince William’s wedding, and it just so happened that the royals saw it as a perfect opportunity for broadcasters to practice filming outside Westminster Abbey, or so say Australian Crown TV.

So, the Queen spent the morning at the Abbey attending a service observing the holy week holiday, Maundy Thursday. During the ceremony, Queen Elizabeth handed out money to elders, a royal tradition that started under the reign of Charles II. The Maundy money, as it’s coined, was handed out to 170 people, 85 men and 85 women in honour of each year of Queen Elizabeth’s life.

2016
In 2016, ten years on from her 80th birthday celebrations, her Majesty decided to spend her birthday giving back to her loyal patrons. On Sunday 12th June, after the Trooping the Colour parade, the Queen hosted a patron’s lunch, a celebration of her patronage of more than 600 organisations in the UK and around the Commonwealth.

The Mall at St James’s was lined with picnic tables for guests to enjoy a hamper-style lunch. The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince William and Prince Harry all made an appearance. Wondering how you got a ticket? The BBC reports that over 1,000 tickets were allocated in a public ballot, with any remaining tickets sold for £150 to the organisations the Queen was a Patron of.

What is the Queen’s favourite birthday cake?
We know where the Queen’s favourite restaurant is – but wondering what cake the Queen loves to tuck into after a long day of celebrations?

We’ve done the digging for you. Former Royal Chef Darren McGrady revealed to Hello! Magazine that the monarch is a huge fan of a chocolate biscuit cake – such a huge fan, in fact, that she passed her love for this cake down to her grandson Prince William, who then served this cake at his wedding to Kate.

Chef Darren said to Hello!: “The chocolate biscuit cake is the only cake that goes up to the royal table every day until it has all gone – sometimes this means it following her to Windsor Castle for the weekend”.

Darren’s actually shared the recipe for it on his website, The Royal Chef. Looks like we know what we’re baking this weekend.. if it’s good enough for the Queen, it’s good enough for us.

What have the Queen’s favourite birthday gifts been, over the years?
Did you know? The Royal family are actually very secretive when it comes to sharing the presents they each receive. Although none of these are confirmed, there’s been rumours of the Queen’s favourite gifts being everything from a washing up apron, to one particular casserole dish.
Kate and William once shared in an interview that their go-to gifts for the Queen are always handmade by her three grandchildren, George, Charlotte and Louis. The Duke of Cambridge said: “With the great grandchildren around, of course they can make things, which always goes down really well – it doesn’t matter what it is.”

For a woman who has everything, of course her favourite presents are going to be the ones made from the heart by her grandchildren.

The Queen’s go-to beauty looks across the years
The Queen is known for her go-to subtle nude lipstick, but has also been known to opt for a more stand-out pink, over the years.

According to a range of sources, these are the beauty products the Queen can’t live without, so we’ve no doubt they’ve been used for a birthday or two over the years.
1. Essie ‘Ballet Slippers’ nail polish
According to Essie’s website, the Queen’s hairdresser wrote to the brand’s founder Essie Weingarten  in 1989, to request a bottle of Ballet Slippers. It’s reported that it’s still the only nail polish her Majesty uses.

2. Elizabeth Arden’s moisturising lipsticks
The Queen is said to have been a fan of Elizabeth Arden lipsticks for years. According to Hello! magazine, the brand has held a royal warrant for over 55 years. Even though we can’t say for sure the colour most preferred by the Queen, she does tend to use bold pink shades.

3. Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant
Another favourite from Elizabeth Arden is their Eight Hour Cream Protectant. According to The Telegraph, a press representative said the brand frequently communicated with the Queen’s senior dresser, Angela Kelly.

“We work closely with Angela Kelly and her team to ensure we provide excellent service for whatever Her Majesty requires, or would like to try,” the representative said.

4. Clarins Ever Matte Mineral Powder Compact
It’s reported that The Queen has used Clarins’ products ever since her Coronation in 1953. That year, she commissioned the brand to create a shade of lipstick to compliment her dress.

Now, 68 years later, the monarch, according the Hello! magazine, favours the Clarins Ever-Matte Mineral Powder Compact in Transparent Fair.

5. Floris London White Rose Perfume
Another fun fact we bet you didn’t know: Floris London holds a Royal warrant for their perfumes, although don’t bother trying to get the brand to tell you the secret formula that makes up the Queen’s favourite scent.

It’s been hush, hush for years – but as the Queen’s favourite flowers are Carnations, you’d guess that her go-to scent might be White Rose. Expect a floral scent, or so the site says, with hints of spice and notes of carnations.

The Queen’s most memorable birthday outfits, over the years
For 36 years, the Queen wore her Scots Guards Uniform to the Trooping the Colour parade, but, fun fact, from 1988 the Queen was allowed to choose her own outfits.

Why? Well, because in 1988 it was confirmed that she would be riding to the Parade in a car, not on horseback – meaning no uniform was necessary.

Keep scrolling to see some of the Queen’s most iconic style moments.
1988
The very first year the Queen wore her own clothes, she opted for a light blue matching outfit, with pearls as accessories. She rode in an open carriage for the first time, too. Read the real reason the Queen always wears pearls, here.

1994
Six years later, the Queen paired her signature pearls with a standout yellow hat, navy overcoat, and brooch.

1998
In 1998, the Queen opted for a texture it’s believed she’d never worn in public before. At the parade, she opted for a feathered coated jacket on top of a mosaic motif dress. Now that’s how you contrast patterns.

2000
A new Century equaled a new colour for the Queen. For the first time at the Trooping the Colour parade, she wore a floral bubble-gum pink dress-suit.

Maybe that’s where Harry Styles gets his inspiration from…

2006
A regal colour, for a regal Queen. In 2006, the Queen sported a purple outfit with a matching hat and a pearl in the middle to match her jewellery.

2012
What to do when it rains on your birthday? Wear bright yellow to brighten the day, naturally. In 2012, the weather may have been rainy, but the Queen brightened up the occasion with a yellow overcoat and hat, with accents of roses and white gloves.

2015
The Queen’s smile wasn’t the only thing sparkling that day: her dress did, too. She styled a shimmery blush dress with white gloves and a matching hat, which matched Kate’s pastel blue dress perfectly.

2016
Just when you think the Queen couldn’t add any more colour to her wardrobe, she turns up to the parade in the brightest outfit yet. The fluorescent green overcoat with a hot-pink flower on her hat made sure that all eyes were on her.

Everyone here at Marie Claire, hopes the Queen had a lovely birthday. Reporting by Rosie Grant.

Prince Louis’ birthday outfit is a sweet nod to his big brother

https://crazyamberbazaar.com/?p=8276

www.crazyamberbazaar.com

It’s Prince Louis 3rd birthday today, and his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released a portrait to mark the occasion.

As always with her children’s photos, Kate Middleton took the picture, earlier this week at Kensington Palace, before the tot left for his first day at nursery.

The picture shows a smiling Prince Louis riding a bicycle, wearing a cute outfit consisting of a navy jumper over a striped shirt, light blue shorts and blue adidas trainers.

Eagle-eyed royal fans will have noticed the blue outfit bears more than a passing appearance to the one Prince George wore in his own 3rd birthday portrait.

In the picture, taken by Matt Porteus below, Prince George was also wearing a blue outfit, in the form of shorts and a striped t-shirt.

He was playing with Kate and William’s dog Lupo, who sadly died at the end of last year.

So it’s very possible that Kate thought it might be a sweet nod to his older brother to dress Prince Louis in a similar outfit.

And in case you were wondering why royal boys always wear shorts, there is a reason behind it.

Dr Ed Owens, historian at the University of Lincoln and expert in the monarchy’s relationship with the media, explained why George often wore them: ‘Shorts symbolise the idealisation and innocence of childhood. This boy will one day be king, so it’s key that he’s seems to be as ‘ordinary’ as possible before he assumes his role as king, which the media always characterises as burdensome and difficult. This change in portrayal from carefree child to burden adult has characterised the royal family’s image since the 1930s, and is integral to generating public empathy for them.’
